Called to Create
Faith. Family.
Ownership. Impact.
Generation after generation.
Why we exist
Stewardship is more than preserving what has been entrusted to us. It is the work of cultivating, producing, owning, multiplying, and using resources to benefit others and future generations.
Our goal is not accumulation for its own sake. It is stronger families, responsible ownership, and impact that outlives us.
Faith & family
Scripture anchors our decisions, our responsibility, and our understanding of stewardship.
We invest in relationships, wisdom, opportunity, and the strength of generations—not only financial assets.
We manage resources with discipline, integrity, generosity, and a commitment to purposeful impact.
What we do
Gentoo Investments is a private family office—not a developer and not a general capital-raising service.
We steward family capital and evaluate select opportunities where aligned ownership, capable operators, and long-term impact come together.
The principle
How we manage, create, grow, and ultimately pass forward what we have been given.
Survive → Stabilize
Understand money. Meet basic needs. Build financial stability.
Stabilize → Create
Build enough margin and resilience to move from managing resources to creating value.
Create → Own → Multiply → Transfer
Create value. Own productive assets. Multiply them. Transfer wealth and wisdom forward.
Financial literacy is the foundation. Financial resilience is the bridge. Generational wealth is the destination.
Learn how cash flow, credit, savings, debt, taxes, and investing work together so each family member can make informed decisions with confidence.
Build margin, liquidity, protection, and disciplined habits so unexpected events do not derail long-term goals—or force short-term decisions.
Build productive assets while passing forward knowledge, relationships, sound judgment, and the capacity to create future opportunity.
Resources are most powerful when they are managed with wisdom, prepared for uncertainty, and positioned to serve those who follow.

Deal flow
For sponsors, operators & trusted partnersWe welcome thoughtful introductions to solid, well-structured opportunities that align with our investment focus and values.
Opportunities grounded in real estate, operating businesses, or other tangible sources of long-term value.
Experienced, trustworthy teams with meaningful investment, clear accountability, and disciplined execution.
A credible path to ownership, cash-flow resilience, value creation, and benefits that extend beyond a transaction.
How we invest
Every opportunity must earn its place. We favor understandable investments, sensible values, aligned operators, financial resilience, and a credible path to durable value.
We look for clear economics, enduring advantages, capable leaders, appropriate leverage, transparent governance, and returns that justify the risk.
We compare each opportunity with preserving liquidity, reducing debt, strengthening current investments, and waiting for a better use of capital.
We examine the sponsor, market, assumptions, capital structure, downside risks, investor protections, reporting, and path to liquidity before committing capital.
Prudent decisions are tested through careful examination, informed counsel, and the discipline to wait when standards are not met.
Proverbs 14:15 · Prudence | Due DiligenceSubmitting an opportunity does not create an advisory, fundraising, brokerage, or investment relationship. Gentoo considers opportunities solely for its own family-office investment purposes.

Our starting point
We are building a clearer picture of where the family is today so our gatherings, resources, and opportunities can help create meaningful progress over time.
Faith, Family & Finance created the foundation for shared learning—and prompted family members to take practical next steps.
Family feedback identified a desire for more focused learning and practical next steps.
The Financial Wellness & Entrepreneurship Small Group, led by Stephen Carter, was created directly in response to 2023 feedback.
FF&F expanded the conversation, while the Family Financial Wellness Study established a measurable baseline for future progress.

Hospitality & land stewardship
An 82-acre family legacy property in Summerville, South Carolina, envisioned as a phased, lake-centered cabin retreat.
Development is concentrated on approximately 50 acres while 32 acres remain preserved outside the project—protecting the land and the family’s long-term connection to it.
Warm modern cabins, lake views, kayaking, walking paths, fire pits and gathering spaces support a hospitality concept designed to grow in measured phases.

Phased residential
A roughly 26-acre residential vision near Kenwood, Madisonville and Mariemont, shaped around differentiated land, modern architecture and disciplined phasing.
The four-phase plan advances from view-oriented custom homes into a broader connected residential community, allowing infrastructure, design and capital to move forward deliberately.
Contemporary forms, curated materials, flexible interiors and indoor-outdoor living establish a distinctive residential product designed for enduring neighborhood value.

Boutique hospitality · PropCo + OpCo
A proposed 44-room select-service boutique hotel in Cincinnati’s historic West End, positioned near TQL Stadium, downtown employers, entertainment venues and the region’s growing visitor economy.
The locally rooted concept combines distinctive accommodations with a restaurant, spa and reduced rooftop and event venue for business, leisure and event-driven guests.
PropCo is designed to own the land and hotel improvements, while OpCo would operate the hotel and amenity businesses. Potential value may come from property appreciation, operating cash flow, debt reduction and the growth of a transferable boutique-hospitality platform.

Design, construction pricing, financing, market validation, timing and investment terms remain subject to change and definitive documents.
